Our Story
I created Humble Housekeeping after a set of circumstances led me to re-enter the workforce after 6 years of homeschooling and keeping our own home. I hadn't been formally employed during that time, and I wondered what skills I could bring to the community. Inspired by a family members success in the cleaning industry, I decided to see if all the years I spent keeping our home provided me enough skills to be successful as a residential house cleaner. I am so thankful and excited to say that I am almost finished with my second year in operation! I have had the pleasure to serve over 30 clients in Central Maine this year alone. Most importantly, I have truly fallen in love with what I do. Hiring a housekeeper is necessary for many people; my goal is not only to help lighten the load inside homes, but to make my clients feel comfortable and safe. I want every client to be able to describe us as an Honest, Hardworking, and Humble company; and that is what I work every day toward accomplishing.

For standard cleans we use a combination of Dr. Bronner's concentrated cleaning solution, baking soda, vinegar, SOS pads, and magic erasers. There are times we may have to use a harsher chemical, such as for cleaning ovens or mold/mildew. We vow to disclose this information beforehand if this is important to your family.

Theft is always a threat when we allow people into our homes. We do background checks on all our employees and specifically address this issue in training. Under no circumstance is theft of any kind permitted by our business. This is taken seriously, with grounds for termination. W

We train our employees that even the pennies we draw into our vacuums belong to our clients; stealing is stealing no matter how “small.”
